L. Scott Leishman, President and Chief Executive Officer

Scott entered the mortgage business in 1986 with Richards Woodbury Mortgage going on to become their Senior Vice President and CEO. In 1994, Richards Woodbury merged with Republic Mortgage where he served as Vice President and eventually became responsible for the Utah operations. In August, 2001, with the acquisition from Old Kent, Scott became President and CEO of Republic Mortgage Home Loans. Scott and his wife, Kris, have four children and two grand-children; they live in Bountiful, Utah.

Paul Miller, Senior Vice President

Responsible for company operations and risk management, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Republic Mortgage. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and manager of capital markets and corporate risk at CrossLand Mortgage. While at CrossLand Mortgage, Mr. Miller was one of four managing partners who led a successful buyout of the company, partnering with two venture capital firms. Paul has served on several lender advisory councils including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Residential Funding Corp/GMAC, Prudential Home Mortgage, and Chase Manhattan Mortgage. Additionally, he has been a panelist and speaker at local and national MBA conferences. Mr. Miller completed his undergraduate studies at Utah State University and holds a Masters of International Business Administration from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird). He has been married for over thirty-two years and has six children and ten grandchildren.

Mathew Brumble, Secretary and Chief Financial Officer

As Secretary and Chief Financial Officer for Republic Mortgage, Mathew is responsible for all aspects of accounting, finance, human resources and financial reporting. With over 15 years experience in the mortgage industry, Mathew has held a variety of positions which include accounting, finance and secondary marketing. In 2001, he was hired as the Controller for Republic Mortgage and promoted to CFO in 2002. Mathew holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Utah.

Gary E. Nielson, Vice President, Retail

Gary Nielson began his mortgage career in 1980 as an originator. After 14 years with Citibank Mortgage and Norwest Mortgage, Gary joined Republic Mortgage Home Loans in 1998. Gary served as President of the Utah Mortgage Lenders Association (UMLA) in 2008. Originally from Sacramento, California, Gary and his wife live in Davis County and are the parents of 3 children, who are all married. He loves baseball and is the #1 fan of the San Francisco Giants, in addition to being a BYU ‘homer’.
Gary lives by the formula “Action x Frequency = SUCCESS.”

Terry Mott, Vice President, Production

Terry began his mortgage banking career in 1977 as a loan processor for a small mortgage banker in Provo, Utah. Since then, he has been a loan officer, branch manager, regional manager and national production manager for several companies, both large and small. His experience has included retail, consumer direct, and wholesale lending. Terry has served in various capacities in the Mortgage Bankers Association on a local and national level. He joined Republic Mortgage in July, 2006 and currently oversees retail offices in Washington and Colorado as well as wholesale production in 18 states. Terry enjoys golf, fly fishing and photography when time permits. Terry and his wife Lisa currently reside in Provo, Utah with daughter Haylee, the last of their 9 children.

Michael Brumble, Chief Information Officer, CMT

With over 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, for the last 17 years Mike has been directly responsible for technology implementation. Mike attended the University of Utah; in January, 2007 he earned the Mortgage Bankers Association’s highest technology award, the Certified Mortgage Technologist (CMT) designation. He has been involved in many industry, vendor and technology groups and organizations. Mike is married and has four children. He is active in local community and church groups, including the Boy Scouts. He loves to travel and enjoy the outdoors with his family.
